The Pavlou and Kaga families have been producing wine in Amyntaio for several generations, in old vineyards 15 to 100 years old. For George Pavlou and Basili Kaga, the Pavlou Estate, with the addition of a new private vineyard, forms the continuation of the family tradition in viticulture. The winery business operates since 2006, producing grapes that are grown organically. Ktima Pavlou’s aim is to produce wines that express the distinct quality of the region. The wines of Ktima Pavlou are predominantly based on a variety of Xinomavro and are exported to the United States, Canada and to countries in Europe.
The privately owned Pavlou estate vineyards are located in Agios Panteleimonas, at Florina, at an altitude of 650 meters. They reach about 2000 acres in area, while most of the vineyards are over 70 years.The yield of the vines per acre amounts to 60-80 kilograms. The company’s’ new winery incorporates contemporary facilities of high
standards. The facilities of the Pavlou Estate is open to visitors for tours and wine tasting sessions.
